Where?
Venabu fjellhotell is situated centrally on the Venabygdsfjellet
mountain plateau, south of Rondane National Park. This special
mountain area offers fine experiences in nature, across the plateau,
in its lakes & streams, waterfalls & mountain tops stretching
towards 1500m asl.
What type of hotel?
Venabu is built in several stages in Norwegian
architectural style with light & airy rooms throughout. There are 56
bedrooms with shower, WC & telephone. 6 of the rooms are suitable for
wheelchair users. We also have high standard holiday cabins for
rent. Peaceful & relaxed atmosphere throughout.
Inside
The dining room has a fantastic view towards the Rondane and
over the local mountains. Downstairs we have two saunas, a solarium,
meeting rooms, two TV lounges, table tennis table, a pool table &
children's play room. There’s also a large ski waxing room with ski
hire & shop, as well as a souvenir shop by reception with a
selection of hand made souvenirs. We have live dance music 6 days a
week in season and a fully licensed bar.
Every Sunday evening Lars shows his slide show of Venabu and the
mountains, including information about the activities available
throughout the year. Halldis holds a slideshow, with comments, about local flora once a
week.
Food
Good food is important! Every Wednesday evening we serve our
”Norwegian Buffet” – a selection of traditional Norwegian food and
we explain the traditions behind the food served. We are well known
for good quality, home made food and a good variety of vegetarian
dishes. You are welcome to enjoy a spell in our dining room for a la
carte meals or simply a cup of coffee & a cake outside our main
mealtimes.
Outside
We pride ourselves on our ability to ensure our guests
enjoy their stay in the mountains, be it alone or with one of our
guides, summer or winter. Footpaths & ski trails start at the door
of the hotel and head in all directions. From our riding stables we
offer horse riding & carriage driving throughout the year. We can
also offer choices for wheelchair users. We have a 40 year tradition
of welcoming ”vintersportsuke” for the disabled at the end of the
winter.

Our family has built up the hotel since 1950 under the
motto ”friendliness & helpfulness”. We have a loyal staff and we
hope to welcome you soon to Venabu and the mountains!
