For 2016 we offer the following packages:

Eight performances in 2016, starting on Friday 5th August, ending 14th August. Rondane concert 14th August

The Peer Gynt festival is arranged annually during the first two weeks of August and as usual, Venabu has secured some of the best available seats for the open air stage performance next to Gala lake.

For the first 25 years these performances have been directed by Svein Sturla Hungnes. From 2015 a new director, Egil Ulsby, has been appointed, with a whole new team, artists and musicians. The stage itself has also undergone changes and we enjoy a new style of performance so near to lake shore. For more information, see www.peergynt.no. You can also see pictures from previous performances on our photogallery.

Venabu has put together packages which include full board, tickets to the performance and return travel by coach with our resident Peer Gynt expert guide, writer Sverre Morkhagen and actor Svein Hellesøy.  We will also have English speaking guides to help you better understand the stage performance and Peer Gynt’s place in Norwegian culture.
