Welcome to the Venabu stables!

 ”Venabustallen” lies in a fantastic mountain landscape, south of Rondane National Park, just 100m from Venabu Fjellhotell. We have 15-22 horses throughout the summer, all safe to ride for all. We arrange a broad range of activities for beginners and experienced riders, everything from an hour to a week of riding. You can also have instruction, and out on a wagons trip, or be hand led if you haven’t ridden before. We ride in small groups of 10-12 people, led by experienced guides.

We have several different breeds of horse, fjord horses & ponies, but mostly the highly suitable Døla horse, which comes from this region of Norway. Some of the horses stay at Venabu all year and help with our sleigh rides and shorter trips in the winter, the rest being rented in for the summer.

• Riding week - 5 days at the hotel, including all meals and 4 days of riding.

• Riding weekend - Hotel stay Friday – Sunday with riding Saturday & Sunday.

• Summer Activities Package – A good family package. 3 days at the hotel with riding, cycle & canoe hire, guided walking.

• Other riding offers – 1, 2 & 3 hour riding trips, day trip with lunch at summer farm, riding instruction on riding ground, or hand led trips for the youngest riders.

Venabustallen has nearly 30 years experience of arranging riding in the mountains and is an approved centre of 'Hest i Turistnæring', which ensures a good quality of service and a strict safety code must be followed by all of its members.
