Ski trails

The Venabygd mountain plateau, south of the Rondane National park, is a snow sure area with fantastic nature, stable climate & great skiing trails. We offer 140 kms of marked & prepared trails in varied mountain terrain with summits up to 1400m. The area is one of the best in Norway for cross country skiing, both for families and those who enjoy a challenge. Great ski trails start right outside the door and when the weather is good, there’s easy access to the mountains in the north. If the weather is a bit windy or grey, turn southwards to the variety of sheltered trails in the birch forest. The main trails are prepared every day.

The Venabu mountain offers great variety of trails, and the freedom to choose a new route every day. You will find trails that suits every need; trails for beginners and families, trails for experienced skiers, or trails for the elders who might want few hills, but gladly wish to try a long route. Go on a trip in flat terrain, varied terrain, or follow one of our trails up on a summit. The trails can remind one of a spiders web, with trails crisscrossing. This gives you the freedom to make the trips shorter or longer depending on the weather or what shape you are in. There are a variety of combinations.

The number of marked and prepared ski trails during Christmas will vary, and depends on the snow conditions, as well as if the waterfalls, swamps and streams have frozen to ice. Usually we can offer 40- 70 kms of ski trails around Christmas/New Years.
