Cabin and hotel terms and conditions

Before making a booking please read carefully through our terms and conditions. 

These terms and conditions apply to hotel and cabin bookings made by private individuals only. Our activity and package booking terms and conditions can be found here.

Corona situation:

Autum 2020: 

Cancellation for hotel stays may be made up to 16h on the day before your arrival with no cancellation fee. Please contact our booking team if you require more information.

 

Bookings for winter 2020/2021 

We are not asking for a deposit for bookings for the winter of 2020/2021, for international guests, until November 2020. 

We will review the situation in November 2020.

Our usual terms and conditions apply to cabin bookings.

 


1.Venabu Fjellhotell

All contracts are with Venabu Fjellhotell, referred to in this document as Venabu Fjellhotell, ‘us’ or ‘we’. Venabu Fjellhotell is a registered business with organisation number (organisasjons nummer) 932096781.

2.Your financial protection

Venabu Fjellhotell complies with Norwegian Law, Pakkereiseloven, relating to package tours and travel guarantees.  Venabu Fjellhotell complies with the Norwegian Travel Guarantee Fund, Reisegarantifondet, rgf.no. 

3. About these terms and conditions

All rooms, pension and cabins are sold subject to the Terms and Conditions set out below. The clauses below and the information provided in the detailed itinerary constitute the terms and conditions of your contract with us. 

4. Booking and payment

4.1 Venabu Fjellhotell accepts bookings made by persons aged 18 and over at the time of booking. Bookings by or on behalf of persons under the age of 18 may be accepted, when accompanied on the trip by another person over the age of 18 and with written consent of their parent or legal guardian.

4.2 By booking with Venabu Fjellhotell you agree to accept all these terms and conditions. Where a group makes a booking all participants within the group agree to accept these terms and conditions.

4.3 Bookings must be made with Venabu Fjellhotell in writing or electronically, and the booking is binding. 

4.4 Hotel bookings: A deposit of 1000kr per person is required to secure a booking. For short stay bookings the deposit will be 500kr per person.

Cabin bookings: a 20% deposit is required to secure the booking.

If you cancel please see below, paragraph 5. 

4.5 Your booking will be accepted when we receive your deposit and we will then issue a booking confirmation. A contract will exist between us from the date we issue the booking confirmation. When you receive the booking confirmation please check the details carefully and inform us immediately if anything is incorrect. You are responsible for keeping us informed of any change of address or contact details. 

4.6 Full payment is due on departure.

We accept the following credit cards: American Express, Mastercard, Visacard, Maestro and payment by bank transfer.

If you are paying by bank transfer from a bank outside Norway any international payment charges should be paid by you at the time of payment. 

5. Cancellation by you

We recommend that you take out cancellation protection insurance at the time of booking. If you wish to cancel your booking you must notify Venabu Fjellhotell in writing, by email or letter. Your notice of cancellation will only take effect when it is received in writing by us and will be effective from the date on which we receive it. 

We will refund all monies paid, less cancellation charges as follows: 

Date of Booking- 90 days: deposit refunded

89 - 30 days: Loss of Deposit 

29 – 14 days: 50% of the total cost of the reservation

13 – 0 days and no show: 100%

It is your responsibility to contact your insurance company.

Any payment is due within 14 days of the cancellation date.

Cancellation of packages (hiking, horseback riding, etc.) has its own cancellation policy.

 

6. Prices 

Venabu Fjellhotell reserves the right to adjust prices in accordance with changes in governmental taxes and fees and other charges beyond our control. 

7. Cancellation by Venabu Fjellhotell

If we have to cancel your booking for any reason you will be informed of this as soon as is reasonably possible and you will receive a full refund of the amount paid to Venabu Fjellhotell unless we are cancelling your booking for reasons of Force Majeure. 

If Venabu Fjellhotell cancels a booking we will not be liable for any expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking or in expectation of the trip taking place.

8. Unavoidable Occurrences (force majeure) 

Venabu Fjellhotell does not accept liability for the consequences of war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, industrial disputes, actual or threatened terrorist activity and its consequences, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, epidemics, health risks and pandemics, acts of God, unavoidable and unforeseeable technical problems with transport for reasons beyond our control or that of our suppliers, closed or congested airports or ports, hurricanes and other actual or potential adverse weather conditions, and any other similar events. If such occurrences cause Venabu Fjellhotell to have to cancel a booking we will endeavour to offer an alternative, but accept no liability for return of fees paid prior to cancellation or curtailment.

9. Third Party Providers

Venabu Fjellhotell has researched to the best of its ability the practice of the providers of activities and transport it utilises. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, accident or event due to the actions of a third party Venabu Fjellhotell shall not be held liable.

10.Your Responsibilities

10.1 Guests are obliged to comply with the rules and regulations stipulated by the authorities or the tour operator’s representatives, including any rules of conduct stipulated by individual carriers etc. 

10.2 Guests must not act in such a manner that they are a nuisance to staff, guides and their fellow travellers. If they grossly neglect their responsibilities and obligations, they may be denied participation in or excluded from the rest of their stay without being entitled to a refund from Venabu Fjellhotell. If they are excluded after starting the reservation they may have to cover the costs of their return journey. They are liable for any damages to Venabu Fjellhotell.  In the event of any damage or loss of loan or hire equipment they will be responsible for repair or replacement.

11. Visa and Travel Requirements 

A passport is required when traveling to Norway from a country outside the Schengen area. We recommend that guests always bring your passport. If a visa is required for travel to Norway, guests are responsible to be granted a visa for Norway.

12. Complaints 

If you or a guest have a complaint about the service you receive at any point during your stay please notify us as soon as possible to give us the opportunity to resolve the situation to a mutual agreement. If the complaint is unresolved to your satisfaction during the stay you should detail your complaint in writing within 28 days. Disputes are regulated by Norwegian law. 

13. Rights relating to text and use of photographs

In connection with some of our activities, we may publish text, video and photos at www.venabu.no. We also make active use of such photos, video and text in our marketing communications. These photos and video may be used in different media. If a guest does not wish to appear in these they must inform the hotel at the start of the trip. 

Privacy Policy: In agreeing to these terms and conditions, you acknowledge that you have read our privacy policy.

These terms and conditions apply to all cabin, room  and pension bookings made with Venabu Fjellhotell as of 21.3.20
