Welcome to our mountain hotel

Owned and run by the Tvete family, the hotel has been welcoming guests since 1950 and has a well-earned reputation for friendly, attentive hospitality. Many guests return year after year, summer and winter.

The hotel and cabins sit in the centre of the Venabygdsfjellet plateau at the southern edge of the Rondane National Park, 78kms north of Lillehammer. This special mountain area offers many fine experiences of nature right across the plateau with its lakes and streams, its waterfalls and mountaintops.

Built in the Norwegian architectural style with light & airy rooms throughout, the hotel has 56 comfortable en-suite rooms, six of which are suitable for wheelchair users. The superb mountain views from the dining room and the open fire in the sitting room make this a wonderful place to relax. There is Wi-Fi throughout the hotel that is free to use, as are the saunas. Complimentary tea and coffee are always available in the lounge.

We can also offer choices for wheelchair users. We have a 50 year tradition of welcoming disabled guests for our ”vintersportsuke” at the end of the winter.

Our family has built up the hotel since 1950 under the motto ”friendliness & helpfulness”. We have a loyal staff and we hope to welcome you soon to Venabu and the mountains!
